Day Trip to Magnolia Market

Friday, June 24, 2016
If you live in Texas (or a surrounding state that won't take you 2 days to drive to it) and you are a fan of HGTV's Fixer Upper, then you take a Day Trip to Magnolia Market aka The Silos.  It's just what you do.  And that's exactly what my friend Joy and I did do a couple of weekends ago.  Late post but as you know, I've been a bit preoccupied.  ;-)

We arrived in Waco a bit after noon and contrary to popular advice, I say don't go too early.  It was still packed.  By the time we left around 2, the crowds had really died down, although it was a tad hotter outside.  Our plan was to hit up the food trucks for crepes, shop and then have another round at the food for some grilled cheese to go.  The day was fun.  My husband asked me what the point of the trip was and I told him, just to see the store and the silos and because, that's why!

The pictures below will take you through our fun little day.

The Silos, obvi.

Baby Boy #2 - 13 Week Bumpdate

Thursday, June 23, 2016
I don't want to fall into second baby syndrome and not have records of this pregnancy because "we've been there done that".  Every baby should be celebrated and this little guy is much anticipated so I wanted to track my updates.  I may not do as many as I did with Dax but that's due to my much busier schedule this time around.  If you have any questions for me, ask away in the comments.  Oh and there's a bump pic on Instagram.

How far along?  13 Weeks 4 days

Total weight gain:  5 lbs (mostly bloat and all in the belly area)

Maternity clothes?  Yes.  Still in my non-maternity jeans thanks to the new Bellaband with the silicone strip - HAS to be the one with the silicone strip.  It really helps hold the jeans up.

Stretch marks?  No new ones

Sleep:  No trouble falling asleep but I'm going to sleep so late just so I can get stuff done. All the bathroom trips in the middle of the night are just stupid.

Best moment this week:  Announcing it so people don't just think I'm fat, although it really is all in my belly.  A welcome change from when I was pregnant with Dax and was fat all over...

Miss Anything?  Wine.  Sushi.  Energy.  Wine...

Movement:  Maybe but he's still a bit little for me to be sure.  My ute aka uterus feels quite heavy though.

Food cravings:  Craved macaroni salad last night so I bought some from the grocery and it was everything I dreamed of.

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Not really any more.  I was quite sick up until a couple of weeks ago but most of the nausea and queasiness are gone.  No real food aversions with this pregnancy.  I can even eat vegetables!

Gender:  Boy!

Labor Signs:  No

Symptoms:  Hardly any nausea these days – maybe once a week.  Lots of round ligament pain.  Still tired especially toward the end of the day and after work but more energy than a couple of weeks ago.

Belly Button in or out?  In

Wedding rings on or off?  On

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Tie

Looking forward to:  Picking a name, the next ultrasound and shopping for me and the bambino.

What do Mila Kunis, Kerry Washington, Blake Lively and I have in common?

We’re all pregnant!  I’m almost 13 weeks and am huge already so why not share.  No, I don't have a cute little picture to post because I'm tired and just don't.  You'll live. There are plenty of others on Pinterest if you just have to get a visual.  We’re praying that everything goes well and we feel so blessed and excited.  Dax doesn't need to be an only child.  Trust me on this.  Please pray for us as this is always a very anxious time for me.  I worry a lot. Also pray that I stop worrying!

Because I’m old (being old and pregnant is the new black) and high-risk for other reasons, we had the QNatal test and already know the gender of our wee one to be.  So, if you want to know too, then follow me on Instagram - @thecocooners - where I will do the gender reveal at 3:00 p.m. today, CST.

It's All About Progression

I still have so much to do in my home to get it decorated just so.  My entryway, for example, was just a shell of a foyer, waiting for more, wanting for more.  Melodramatics aside, I finally purchased an entryway table, so I can check that off my list.  I painted the niche quite some time ago and I love the color.  I originally wanted a whitewashed wood pedestal type of console table but then I decided to go with something that had more modern lines, especially because the rest of the house has more of a traditional feel.

Before (no more outfit shots in front of this niche I suppose).
After (ish).
The paint is "Flint" by Restoration Hardware.  I purchased the table and ottomans from Overstock and the mirror was a gift from my mother from Horchow.

A girlfriend and I are heading to Waco this Saturday to shop at Magnolia Market (and eat at the food trucks) so hopefully I can find some items to dress up the table.  Thinking books, a catchall, a few tchotchkes and a lamp.  How would you adorn this empty little table?

Blue Rompers

I sourced some blue rompers for a friend.  The default picture may not be blue but just click and you'll see all the color options.  Cute stuff, huh?

I have been more M-I-A than normal, especially after such a great few weeks of staying on top of my editorial calendar.  I'll get back in my stride soon.  I just have a lot going on right now that I will share soon.  Life is cray to the cray.  Please feel free to peruse the sidebar and take a gander at some of my older and more popular posts.  I've got some good stuff in the works.  Promise!

Thanks for reading.  Smooches!!
