ATX March 2015

Tuesday, March 31, 2015
I had a blast in Austin visiting one of my dearest friends with the besties.  Yes, I said besties.  Perfect weather, great company and lots of good eats and drinks are the real essentials for a wonderful Girls' weekend!

Monogrammed bag packed - Restoration Hardware (similar here)
Yes, our host knew the way to our hearts.
The most awesome inside joke ever happened, and did I mention how awesome it was?
Lighter baked French toast.  My girl cut back on the butter and used coconut palm sugar.  Nummylicious, as Dax would say!!
The gang (I just realized as I posted this that our outfits are rather coordinated).

Gotta go to a food truck in Austin (obsessed with the Chicken Shawarma!).
More yumminess from Manuel's (Seafood Chile Relleno).
One of the sweetest couples I know.
Ussie fail at The Goodnight (bowling)... Well, my lashes and that half an eye look great.

Planning for a Girls' Weekend

Wednesday, March 25, 2015
In my inbox this morning was a cute and colorful email from Mark and Graham about what to bring for a Girls' night in (or out).  I am going to Austin in a few days for a Girls' Weekend myself  - perfect timing.  So what do you need for a Girls' weekend?  Well, here are my essentials:

Festive PJs, an on-point mani, a colorful passport cover (for Get-a-Ways), a chic overnight bag, fun tees, clutch for dinner,  a roomy handbag, cosmetic case, fancy champagne glasses and of course, your game face (bring it ladies)!

Top Ten Tuesday – March Music Mix

Tuesday, March 24, 2015
I love music.  I think more than the average person. If you follow me on Instagram then you know my Biggy Smalls loves his music too.  My husband keeps me hip to the game on Hip Hop b/c the radio stations here in Dallas – SUCK!  Sorry, I know that was harsh.

We are just a musical family. I love dancing, singing, rapping, working out to music.  It just keeps you cool.  So here’s a snippet of some songs on heavy rotation – in no particular order, but these are the ones I’m playing most often these days.

1. All Day – Kanye West
(um, his performance at the BRIT Awards was dope)
2. Pumped Up Kicks – Foster The People
3. Work It – Missy Elliott
4. We Are Done – Madden Brothers
5. Sweater Weather – The Neighbourhood
6. Truffle Butter – Nicki Minaj
7. Sure Thing – Miguel
8. Lost – Frank Ocean
9. Love Me Like You Do – Ellie Goulding
(my man makes fun of me for liking this one but I love this song!)
10. Goodbye – Who Is Fanc
    (Ok, who are you, Fancy?)

Easy Does It

I don't always wear logos but when I do... it's a cute, springy sweatshirt.
Sweatshirt: Gap (says Captain Obvious); Jeans: Old Navy; earrings: J. Crew Factory

I just love the dotted faux leather logo.  Can Fridays get any easier?

Charlotte Tilbury and You

Wednesday, March 18, 2015
I have an exciting event to share with you.  Celebrity makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury will be in Dallas to share her new spring/summer collection on March 24!  She will make a personal appearance at Nordstrom in NorthPark Mall and she wants to meet with YOU!

From 6-8pm, you’re invited to mix and mingle with Charlotte on the beauty floor.  A top DJ will be spinning while you can sip cocktails, sign up for transformations from Team Tilbury, and see the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders bring to life the 10 iconic looks from Charlotte's line (i.e. The Rock Chick, The Uptown Girl, The Sophisticate, etc.), all in celebration of the official opening of the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Counter.

I have been dying to get my hands on her makeup because of all the raves (@rachel_roy can't stop IGing and #ging about Charlotte and her skills).  A non-sponsored product review is on the way.  If you make it to the event, leave a comment and tell us all about it!

If you follow celebrities and/or style blogs, then you have surely seen the Stuart Weitzman "Nudist" sandal EVERYWHERE.  It's a gorgeous shoe.  Sexy and simple.  I have a similar style from Michael Antonio which are nice and inexpensive.  But the Nudist has just been done to death.  I really want a nice pair of evening sandals for Spring so I looked to Stuart Weizman to see if there are any other styles "on the road less traveled", shall we say.  And yes, I found a shoe I cannot stop drooling over. The Showgirl.

I can't get enough of the color "Flesh", actually a rosy pink. And the leather just sparkles but it's not sparkles.  I want these babies and I just might decide to get them.  But, as I wholeheartedly believe in cost per wear, how often would I wear these?  I might have to wear them to Target to get my money's worth!  Seriously, I doubt these will be purchased anytime soon b/c I'm more worried about home furnishing stuff right now.  And with that in mind, I wanted to look for some lower priced options that have the same feel.

While these are great options, they just don't do it for me like the Showgirl does. And the Showgirl is still unique as far as bloggers go.  I haven't seen anyone don a pair of these sexy ladies, have you?
