How Now Brown Gown

Tuesday, May 29, 2012
I was contemplating making my hospital gown but I have been so busy there was just no way.  We will be moving from our house to our new apartment for the next couple of weeks so the sewing machine is going to be packed away for a while.  I will bring it back out to sew some stuff for my little man.  But I digress.  I decided to buy a gown and thank goodness I came across this post on Project Nursery.  I clicked a link to the website for Gownies and found a great deal.

Here is the gown I bought and already received (quick shipping)!

I love it.  It is just so much more stylish and individual than the standard issue hospital gown.  I can’t wait to have the first picture of me and my baby wearing this.

Review: Aveda’s Damage Remedy™ Daily Hair Repair

Wednesday, May 16, 2012
I am here to happily review Aveda’s Damage Remedy™ Daily Hair Repair.  I received a full size Daily Hair Repair as well as a 3-piece Damage Remedy™ Sample Pack that I will gift to a friend (I’m thinking Mary if you are reading as I know you love Aveda products) via the Vogue Influencer Network.
The Daily Hair Repair contains certified organically-derived quinoa protein, wheat protein, soy-derived oil and certified organic essential oils including bergamot, mandarin and ylang ylang and claims to “instantly repair damaged hair by 26%*, help protect from heat styling and detangle to help prevent further damage.”
I used it for the first time this past weekend and was very pleased with the results.  I have a lot of fly-a-ways at the front of my hairline from breakage and they already look more manageable and less prominent.  The product left my hair super soft and smelling great, like Aveda always does.  It didn’t really do anything to manage my frizzies but that’s not the point of this product.  While it has only been a total of 5 days of me using this product daily, I can already see great results so this is a winner.  I had no doubts, however.  I love Aveda anything really.  Click here for more info.

28 Week Bumpdate

Friday, May 11, 2012

How far along?  28 Weeks
Total weight gain:  I'll never tell (insert Brittany Murphy voice)…
Maternity clothes?  Of course
Stretch marks?  Like a tiger attack (my running joke to make myself feel better)
Sleep:  getting more uncomfortable
Best moment this week:  Seeing Baby Dax twice in the past week.  He’s so cute already.
Miss Anything?  Wine and Sushi.  Bending over without thinking about it.  Coordination.
Movement:
Oh yeah.  He still doesn’t keep me up at night – cool baby, or what.
Food cravings: Doritos which I hadn’t had in like 5 years.  They were yummy and I ate way too many at one time.
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Mouthwash.  Broccoli.
Gender:  Boy
Labor Signs:  No
Symptoms:
Some nausea.  More tired again.  Back pain.  Some Braxton Hicks.
Belly Button in or out?  Still in
Wedding rings on or off?  On but probably not for long

Happy or Moody most of the time:
  Happy but don’t test me...
Looking forward to:
  My baby shower next weekend!!

A Mint On Your Pillow

Wednesday, May 9, 2012
I finally have access to HomeMint and after completing my StyleProfile, I was able to see the goods.  Not bad.  I did like two of my top matches.

Not a great fan of the prices. I'm not always a cheapskate but I do appreciate bargains, especially for home decor and goods.  I just don't see anything so unique that will make me click the checkout button versus heading to World Market.  There is a category with some very unique and pricey, pricey items.  If that's your cup of tea, be my guest and shop but not moi.  With the bougie antiques aside, I am still intrigued with what is to come in the next several months.  The "Mints" do have specials and sales all the time so I bet I'll be able to get a little somethin' in the near future.
